• Oliver 1655: Although the 55 series was advertised as "New for the 1970s," most of the updated models went into production in late-1969. The 1655 was a replacement for the 1650 at the dealer introduction meeting in Torrance, CA. 

• Oliver's Early Pickup Balers. In the previous issue, we covered the Oliver/Ann Arbor stationary baler line. This was a very successful tool in its day but when the pickup baler came along in the mid-1930s, it was the beginning of the end of the mountains of loose hay. By 1936, the baler that had been tested and perfected by the Tallman Brothers was being copied by the competition. Including Bale Master balers, Model 16, Model 100, Model 101, and more.
