  • Oliver 1655: Although the 55 series was advertised as "New for the 1970s," most of the updated models went into production in late-1969. The 1655 was a replacement for the 1650 at the dealer introduction meeting in Torrance, CA.

This was a very successful tool in its day but when the pickup baler came along in the mid-1930s, it was the beginning of the end of the mountains of loose hay.
