Oliver Heritage Issue #124 Dec/Jan 2025

  • Featuring: Oliver 770 Row Crop. It takes a special tractor to carry on through the next series and beyond. The 770 was such a popular model and good fit for every farm that it carried on from the 3-digit through the 100 series and into the 50 series models of the 4-digit era. The 770 is a legend! Feature tractor owner: Folie Farms - Somerset, WI.
  • A White Christmas: Production Returns to Charles City, an article by Floyd County Museum Director, Mckenna Lloyd. Allied’s approved purchase of White Farm Equipment on November 5, 1985 meant that there would be new White tractors made in time for Christmas.
  • An Oliver for Christmas: I’ve never known a farm kid who hasn’t wanted a few toys resembling the real thing. Carpet farming and backyard “plowing” haven’t changed much over time. My brothers and I, my children, and my grandchildren, have all enjoyed farming with toys. But, what HAS changed is farm toy affordability, variety and availability.
  • Oliver’s Magna Sweeper: A Consolidated Effort. While Oliver is well-known among collectors for their Industrial models, there were other companies that took advantage of Olivers reliability and slapped their own name on it. Another not-so-well-known name acquired a couple orders of Oliver tractors and created a unique machine that is now one of my favorites – the Consolidated Magna Sweeper.
  • Cletrac Facts: Drott Manufacturing Corporation: A Brief but Important Connection with Cletrac.
  • Another Oliver User: Bower Family Farm - Cortland, OH.
