- FEATURING: Allis-Chalmers 7580. As a nation, the United States had a lot to celebrate in 1976. However, while the whole country and many companies were celebrating the bicentennial and 200 years of history, Allis-Chalmers dealers were also celebrating a new “homegrown” four-wheel-drive tractor in the form of the new Model 7580. Feature tractor owner: Brian Lee - Montevideo, MN
- Mud Hog: While Mud Hog is known for their hydraulic assist axles, there is much more to this company and their contributions to the Heritage Era.
- Oliver and Minneapolis-Moline: Same Models - Different Metal. The 1960 Annual Report from Minneapolis-Moline stated the company was experiencing favorable factors and activities of new divisions that would enhance the opportunities presented this year, and the years ahead, for growth within a company with a proud history. Just a couple years later, things turned a different direction when White Motor acquired the company.
- The Power Struggle: M&W vs. Manufacturer. During the early-‘70s, a booklet was sent out to JD dealers squashing all modifications. Although M&W was never “named” in this publication, it is clear who the target was by the name of the book, “Added Power – Is It Worth It?” It was a direct aim at M&W and the products they were pushing for “Power Farming.”
- Steiger Bearcat: Entering the 1970s with a Roar. While the Wildcats and Tiger started production in 1969, it was 1970 before the Bearcat hit the market.
-
Nothing Less Than a Beast: Paquette’s Contribution to Agricultural History.
- Mini Muscle: Dan Robinette's Collection of Farm Toys.
- From the History Vault: What was happening 40, 50, and 60 years ago in the tractor industry? Read these tidbits of history straight from Sherry Schaefer's personal literature collection.
