  • From Orange to Green, Part 1. It was a sad day for many when Allis-Chalmers ceased to exist in 1985, only to reemerge as Deutz-Allis.
  • 1978 Big Tractor Survey, Part 2: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. After conducting surveys about new tractor models from farmers, Professional Farmers of America, a non-profit organization from Cedar Falls, IA, assembled these surveys into a published booklet. Farmers didn't hold anything back in these accounts, and some of the responses are humorous and may even be relatable to you.
  • WANTED: David Brown's International Harvester 1256.
  • New Holland 1281 Baler: NOW We're Cruising! While New Holland was at the forefront of self-propelling a baler in 1956, it used a small gas engine for running the entire operation. It would be nearly a decade later before the machine advanced to an automotive engine in the Haycruiser line.
  • When Moving to Another Field Involves a Jet: Dick Metcalf of Glen Haven, WI, and President of Pride Seeds, had a plan to get his IH 1456 FWA and other equipment to Kauai, Hawaii.
  • From the History Vault: What was happening 40, 50, and 60 years ago in the tractor industry? Read these tidbits of history straight from Sherry Schaefer's personal literature collection.
