• FEATURING: Ford 8600, 110 Blue Horses. The thousand series tractors entered the market in 1961. It was a new era and a new machine. Over the next decade, several models were added; each more powerful than the other. In 1973, the 8000 was upgraded to the 600 series.  The 8600 was pushed by Ford as "easy-going horses." • John Deere 8650 with a Kinze Re-Power. The tractor in this article was purchased new in 1984 by Terry Bogner. In the summer of 1996, Bogner took the 8650 out to Williamsburg, IA, to be fitted with a Kinze conversion. They said it was the best thing they ever did.
