Meet Our Staff

Sherry Schaefer- Editor/Owner

I would like to think that I am the fuel pump that keeps every cylinder firing in this well-oiled machine.  As owner and editor of two magazines, I spend a lot of time in my mobile office visiting with the pioneers and people involved in the farm equipment industry.  Although I spend way too many hours writing and producing the magazines, my passion for the hobby gives me great satisfaction at the end of each magazine, making it all worth it.  It is my job to go after stories, work with writers on future stories and assure there is a good balance of color and equipment in each issue.  Aside from the magazine research and production, I also have to make sure that the business end of the operation flows smoothly.  For every hour I spend on the magazine, I spend three hours “taking care of business”.  If you had told me ten years ago that I would own a publishing company, two magazines and have a staff, I would have laughed at you.  But I have been blessed with them all and can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing……except flying!

Ashley Heuerman- Client Relations Specialist

I grew up in a small town in south central Illinois. While I don’t personally know a lot about tractors, I did grow up around farming and definitely have a great appreciation and respect for the industry.  I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and then married my husband, Lucas, on a Colorado mountaintop.  We now have a beautiful 5-month old daughter, Adelle, who keeps us very busy. I work with Sherry in the Greenville office as the Client Relations Specialist.  If you call the office, I will usually be the one you’ll talk to first.  Some of my primary duties include handling customer service, subscription inquiries and data, merchandise orders, and shipping.

Billie Jean Giles- Executive Administrator

As a country girl that grew up on a farm in central Kentucky, I basically learned to drive in the fields on an old Farmall tractor.  I thought of a tractor as just another piece of farm equipment, but in January of 2009, I met Sherry and 3 Point Ink.  I quickly learned that a tractor is sometimes much more than just a tractor.  Over the last few years, I’ve talked to many of our subscribers who have shared stories and photos of their equipment.  Oftentimes these conversations make me long for a ride in the field on the back of that old Farmall.  As Executive Administrator for 3 Point Ink, I’m primarily responsible for the financial part of our company and try to keep the business rolling along smoothly.  In January of 2013, I took on the responsibility for Advertising Sales for both of our magazines.  Our advertisers are important to me, as well as our magazines.  Quite a few of them I have had the opportunity to work with in my administrative role and now I am enjoying working with them as we develop ads for their business.  Others, I’m looking forward to getting to know and working with.  If there is anything I can help you with, please give me a call.  If I don’t know the answer to your question, I promise I’ll do my best to find the answer for you!

Jason Dewitt - Graphic Designer

I can honestly say I LOVE TRACTORS! I point tractors out to my family and friends all the time and they seem impressed that this city guy would know anything at all about a tractor other than my Cub Cadet riding mower. What they seem to forget is that I was a 12 Foxtrot in the US Amy and operated old Vietnam era M60 class tanks. I love big machinery and love to see it in action. I have been a professional designer for thirteen years. I have an Associates of Applied Science in Commercial Art degree from Clark State Community College. My first big break was at a company in Mansfield, Ohio working with large format graphics. After putting in hard work for several years, I married my wife, Jennifer. We relocated to Dayton, Ohio where I worked for a similar company. It was my job at a publishing company in Yellow Springs, Ohio that really dialed in my love of art. It was there that I discovered my talent of designing magazines and now I cannot imagine doing anything else. These days I am a full time designer and father of three (Andrew-7, Emily-5 and Claire Bear-3). They keep me busy running here and there... soccer, football, basketball, dance, you get the idea! However, I always manage to get both magazines done for Sherry, and I would not have it any other way. I am passionate about what I do and I am one blessed guy!

Super T - Photographer

I photograph tractors and that's mostly all my camera is used for.
I will meet up with the owner/collectors & we will try to come up
with ideas that would make for interesting or unique pictures. It's definitely a real joint effort. Without their enthusiastic
help, I could not pull this off. Thanks go to everyone involved
who make it all happen!

Laura Hackstadt - Marketing & Editorial Assistant

I’m the newest addition here to the 3-Point Ink staff, working in the Greenville office with Sherry and Ashley.  I grew up in Okawville, IL, a small farming town about 45 miles southwest of Greenville.  My dad and uncle own and operate a dairy and grain farm in Nashville, IL, where I spent the majority of my summers as a kid “helping” around the farm.  I also did my fair share of actual work as I got older and was much more useful to them, like finally learning to drive a tractor and getting out in the fields! Something my older sister has always been jealous of!  After high school, I ventured to Chicago looking for the big city life but the small town girl longed for “home.” I guess it’s true when they say, “you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.”  I then made my way south to SIU Carbondale, where I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism: with a specialization in Advertising/Integrated Marketing Communications.  While I wasn’t interested in taking over the “family business,” I do and always have had a vested interest in the farming/agriculture industry, so I’m very excited to be working for Sherry.  As the Marketing & Editorial Assistant, I’ll be working with Sherry to maintain our social media sites, eNewsletter, events, and any new ways to get the word out about our great tractor magazines!
